Acura RDX Concept
The Acura RDX Prototype
SUV has a 2.3-liter four-cylinder turbocharged
engine; it combines sport utility with sports
sedan handling and performance. The RDX’s
All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD™), and
is designed to help the vehicle enter the
premium SUV market. Loaded with leading edge
technology the RDX is sporty, luxurious and
functional with outstanding performance yet
is also fuel-efficient. The 2.3-liter i-VTEC
four-cylinder turbocharged engine generates
240 horsepower and 260 lbs-ft of torque.
To maximize its power
plant the RDX has a steering wheel-mounted
paddle shifters to manually operate the 5-speed
sequential SportShift automatic transmission.
The RDX is a all-new global light truck platform.
It has a richly appointed materials that make
the car very driver friendly. Complete with
a premium Acura/ELS DVD-Audio system it is
obvious that this vehicle is meant for a youthful
audience. The RDX will be assembled at Honda
of America Manufacturing in Marysville, Ohio
and will go on-sale in the summer of 2006.
